An exchange stint in China will provide you with opportunities to experience the new and exciting developments in one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Most courses in the Chinese universities are conducted in Mandarin.  The Centre for Language Studies and the Department of Chinese Studies offer the following courses which will help in brushing up your Mandarin/Chinese prior to your exchange stint:

LAC3203 Chinese for Science and Technology, offered by the Centre for Language Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
CH2271 Chinese for Business and Industry, jointly offered by the Centre for Language Studies and the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

These courses, which are available to students from all faculties, are tailored to enhance your Chinese proficiency for exchange at Chinese universities. Students should have 'AO' Level Chinese or Higher Chinese at 'O' Level or equivalent in order to take these courses.
