About The Washington Center:
The Washington Center is a non-profit organization whose strategic location in the heart of downtown D.C. (just six blocks from the White House!) creates a window of opportunity to a broad range of partnerships. The Washington Center seeks to produce not only future leaders in their professions, but also well-informed citizens who are public-spirited and civically engaged. As a Washington Centre intern, you will have ample opportunities to meet other fellow interns, have fun and discover one of the world’s liveliest and most engaging cities. Please visit http://www.twc.edu for more information.
Internship programs available:
TWC internships offer an extensive selection of programs ranging from advocacy, service and arts programs to political and business programs. Sample internship placements have included Amnesty International, National Mental Health Association, The Smithsonian Institution, United Nations Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and The World Bank amongst many others.
Apart from these, regardless of your specific program, all students participate in the Leadership Forum. This Forum gives you the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet distinguished leaders from the business, nonprofit and government sectors as well as the diplomatic community. Students can expect to attend The President’s Lecture Series and Embassy Visits Program amongst many others.
