APRU - The University of Tokyo Summer Internship Program (UTSIP Kashiwa) The UTSIP Kashiwa is a short-term summer program for 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students who are planning to pursue graduate studies in Japan. The program provides students with an opportunity to be exposed to cutting-edge research in natural and social sciences. The ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum is an annual event organised under the auspices of the ASEAN University Network (AUN). Aimed primarily at enhancing and strengthening mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation among ASEAN youths, the Forum provides a platform for students from AUN member universities to showcase their cultures and traditions through music, song and dance. This is a unique opportunity for youths in the region, not only to gain a better appreciation of their cultural heritage and that of others, but also provide a means of promoting stronger cross-border interactions and ties. AUN Educational Forum and Young Speakers' Contest The AUN Educational Forum and Young Speakers’ Contest is an annual one-week work camp that aims to foster the ASEAN spirit through academic and non-academic activities. Hosted by a different member university and with a different theme annually, participants attend, engage and participate in such activities as round-table discussions, speakers’ contests, educational tours, cultural programmes and specially-arranged lectures. IARU Global Internship Program @ ETH Zurich (For NUS Students) The IARU Global Internship Program aims to provide IARU students with the opportunity to gain valuable international work experience by conducting high-impact research and projects in another member university. Such internships enable students to gain real insights into their host university and provide an exciting platform to build cross-cultural understanding. ETH Zurich is offering two internship positions at the office of ETH Global. The internships will take place from July – September 2013. |

IARU Global Internship Program @ NUS (For students from IARU universities) The IARU Global Internship Program aims to provide IARU students with the opportunity to gain valuable international work experience by conducting high-impact research and projects in another member university. Such internships enable students to gain real insights into their host university and provide an exciting platform to build cross-cultural understanding. NUS is pleased to offer seven internship positions in administrative offices and research laboratories for students from IARU member universities (excluding NUS). The internships will take place from 27 May – 19 July 2013, except for the internship with the Department of Computer Science, which will take place from 13 May to 2 August 2013. IARU Graduate Student Conference The IARU Graduate Student Conference is a 2.5-day conference which aims to provide a platform for graduate students (preferably PhD students) from IARU universities to exchange ideas and explore collaborations for integrative research on global issues. The theme for the inaugural Conference is Ageing. Participants will have the opportunity to attend lectures by prominent researcher, put up posters and tour NUS research facilities. Each IARU university will send two students for the GSC. Applications should be sent to the students’ home university. Nominated participants should send completed applications to NUS by Friday 16 March 2012. |

IARU Student Sustainability Fellowship (For NUS Students) As part of the Campus Sustainability Initiative, the IARU has established a Sustainability Fellowship Program. This program allows a small number of selected students to work on exchange in the Campus Sustainability Departments of IARU member institutions, undertaking environmental management projects. These projects have an operational focus and in many cases generated outcomes that can be applied more widely. Selected students will be provided with a stipend to work on targeted campus sustainability projects at IARU member universities all around the world. Projects will be institutional-specific or related to IARU activities; these projects are intended to allow students apply valuable lessons learnt at the host institutions back at NUS. |

Temasek Foundation Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking With the aim to groom the leader in you, the TF LEaRN Programme @ NUS nurtures the next generation of Asian leaders by providing opportunities for cultural exchange, networking, community engagement and leadership development. Selected students receive S$ 4,000-S$ 6,000 during their semester exchange to ASEAN and Asia (China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan). |

U21 Graduate Research Conference The U21 Graduate Research Conference aims to provide participants with an opportunity to develop a range of skills relevant to the research process. Delegates give talks, present posters, and produce short articles which are reviewed by other participants. These experiences develop their communication skills and give them an idea of the peer review process. Guest speakers are also invited to contribute to the discussions. The next Graduate Research Conference will be hosted by University College Dublin in July 2013 on the theme 'Energy'. The U21 Summer School provides opportunities for students from different disciplines to interact and share ideas on different topics. Each year, the summer school is built on a different theme, as decided by the host university. This thematic approach introduces participants to topics of importance to the host university and allows the sharing of different perspectives by international and local students. The U21 Summer School 2013 will take place from 7 to 19 July 2013, at University of Connecticut, USA. The theme of this year’s U21 Summer School focuses on human rights and its place in our world at the beginning of the 21st century. U21 Undergraduate Research Conference The U21 Undergraduate Research Conference allows students from around the globe to present their research to a diverse audience of peers, faculty, and mentors from the U21 member universities. Students from any discipline are welcome to join the conference for stimulating discussions and networking opportunities. Seminars and social activities are also included in the programme. The U21 Undergraduate Research Conference 2013 will take place from 8 to 12 July 2013, at University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This year’s conference takes the theme ‘Urban Challenges': Building healthy, smart and & creative cities for the future’.
