IARU Global Internship Program @ ETH Zurich
The IARU Global Internship Program aims to provide IARU students with the opportunity to gain valuable international work experience by conducting high-impact research and projects in another member university. Such internships enable students to gain real insights into their host university and provide an exciting platform to build cross-cultural understanding.

Internship Description: |
In time of globalisation, careers of university graduates are increasingly international, with complex migration flows often referred to as ‘brain drain’ or ‘brain circulation’. ETH Global, the international relations office of ETH Zurich, is currently investigating this aspect by evaluating several scholarship programmes for students from developing countries. Tracking the careers of past scholarship holders by taking a closer look at their career paths and international networks will allow drawing conclusions on the impact of the scholarships and make recommendations for the future support of students from developing countries. The intern will work at the office of ETH Global together with the responsible programme manager. The duties involve supporting the evaluation through quantitative and qualitative data collection (questionnaire and interviews) and analysis of this data on alumni mobility and their international networks. Evaluating future bilateral S&T partner countries |

Internship Description: |
ETH Zurich is the leading house for the Swiss national bilateral science and technology cooperation with partner countries in east Asia and the pacific rim. While relations to China, Japan and Korea are well established and joint programs are already ongoing, more knowledge is needed for identifying potential partner institutions and spreading the cooperation to other countries in the area. The intern will work at the office of ETH Global, the international relations office of ETH Zurich, closely with the programme managers for the bilateral science and technology programmes. Duties will involve desk top research, setting up a survey and interviews in order to create an overview of the already ongoing scientific relations between the different Swiss universities and research institutions and institutions in potential future partner countries such as Indonesia, Philippines etc. After a survey with questionnaires, the intern will conduct interviews with persons originating from the respective countries to get an overview of universities and funding possibilities. Programme Expenses
The intern is responsible for all personal expenses, including their airfare and accommodation. The internship is remunerated with a stipend of CHF 2’000 per month.
Accommodation cost will be borne by the intern and paid from the stipend. Accommodation will have to be organized by the intern with the support from ETH Global.
Application Criteria
To be eligible to apply for the IARU Global Internship Program@ETH Zurich, you must be a student at one of the IARU universities (except ETH Zurich), have completed at least two full years of university study. The internship must be acknowledged by your university as a part of your studies.
