APRU - The University of Tokyo Summer Internship Program (UTSIP Kashiwa)
Programme Description & Objectives
The UTSIP Kashiwa is a short-term summer program for 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students who are planning to pursue graduate studies in Japan. The program provides students with an opportunity to be exposed to cutting-edge research in natural and social sciences. The complete program information is available here.

Programme Expenses
This program offers scholarships to select applicants, as outlined below. However, if you are planning on applying for other scholarships, or have already been granted financial aid for the purposes of this program, you will not be able to apply for these scholarships.
1) Scholarship, 110,000 JPY
For living expenses in Japan.
2) Air ticket, maximum of 50,000 JPY
A maximum of 50,000 JPY will be provided to help cover the costs of a return ticket from your home country to Japan. Airline ticket costs that exceed this amount will have to be covered by the participants themselves.
Accommodation will be provided at student dormitories or lodges affiliated with the University of Tokyo.
Accommodation costs will be covered by the University as well.
As the program offers funding to accepted candidates, NUS students attending the program will not be considered for additional NUS-administered bursaries/scholarships.
Application Criteria
Applicants must be in their 3rd or 4th year of study in an undergraduate program (as of December 2013). Applicants must be able to commit fully to participation in all classes and laboratory work offered by the program.
