Universitas 21 (U21)

Established in 1997 in Melbourne, Australia, Universitas 21 is an international network of leading research-intensive universities in sixteen countries. Collectively, its members enroll over 1.3 million students and employ over 18 0,000 staff and faculty, . Their collective budgets amount to over US$ 25bn, and they have an annual research grant income of over US$ 6.5bn. The network aspires to create distinct opportunities for multilateral collaboration and engagement. Its focus is on educational development; mobility of students and every category of staff; research and knowledge transfer; and the core systems and processes that support such activity. Through multilateral programmes, projects and teams, Universitas 21 seeks to maximize unique opportunities for engagement beyond existing bilateral arrangements, thereby strengthening the capability and reputation of its members. NUS is a founding member of U21 and a part of the Managers’ Committee. |
