APRU is a consortium of 42 leading research universities in the Pacific Rim. The consortium aims to foster cooperation in education, research and enterprise thereby contributing to the economic, scientific and cultural advancement of the Pacific Rim. In its mission, APRU aims to promote scientific, educational and cultural collaboration among Pacific Rim economies. In both its objectives and guiding principles, APRU embodies a commitment to global academic and research standards. For a list of APRU activities please visit the APRU website. Beyond collegial and collaborative exchanges, APRU’s strategic initiatives aim to develop strategically-focused programs. The APRU World Institute (AWI) was established in 2006 as a platform where leading researchers, policy advisors and business executives from APRU members and other invited institutions could transcend national borders to address issues of regional and global concern. Focusing on critical issues such as Climate Change, Public Health, and Economic Integration, the AWI workshops provide unique opportunities for international multidisciplinary experts to explore ways in which APRU universities could better respond to education and training, research and development, and policy formulation requirements in those issues. For more information about AWI, its members, and associated activities and workshops, please visit the AWI website. |
