Opening a Bank Account:

Students have many banking options to choose from in Singapore. Many international banks offer a wide range of services. You should bring enough cash or traveler's checks to cover your expenses while deciding on the bank you wish to open an account with.

For the Development Bank of Singapore and POSB (merged) banks, the minimum initial deposit is S$100 for those below 21 yrs of age. You must have your passport and Student's Pass/NUS Letter of Admission with you when you visit the bank. For more information on banking in Singapore go to the Office of Student Affair's International Student Guide.
