My NUS Experience

What were your impressions of Singapore before you came?

Michael: I thought Singapore is very business-savvy and technologically advanced – similar to Japan.

And now that you’re here, what do you think?

Michael: It’s a very diverse, very colourful, and beautiful in terms of the different cultures blending together like a melting pot. And it’s so green…

I feel more comfortable here than I think I would in other Asian countries. You guys speak English. Sometimes it feels very American.

What do you think of the food?

Michael: For the most part, the food is really good. I’ve had the best seafood here. “It’s the largest crab claw I’ve ever held!”

What do you like most about Singapore?

Michael: The experience of being in a new country and learning.

What do you least like about Singapore?

Michael: Too many shops! Everywhere you go, people are trying to sell you stuff. I want to do more Arts stuff, like visiting an art gallery or museum.

What did you think of Little India?

Michael: Generally it was interesting.
