RESEARCH SCHOLARHSHIP FOR ITALIAN CITIZENS
 

In conjunction with the Executive Programme on Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Singapore and Italy, students of Italian origin can apply for the NUS Research Scholarship for Italian Citizens to pursue graduate studies by research at the master level at the National University of Singapore.

Terms and Conditions:

The NUS Research Scholarship for Italian Citizens carries a monthly stipend of S$1,500 and full research fee subsidy. No travel or other allowances are provided. The Scholarship is only tenable for one year (12 months) in the first instance. Renewal of the Scholarship may be considered upon another application and on a case-by-case basis. Application Period and Deadline:

  • 1st December: for admission in Semester 1 (August)

Note: The outcome of your application will be known in May.

Application:

The application forms for the Graduate Research Programme and the Research Scholarship for Italian citizens must be submitted together. Click here to download application form for NUS Research Scholarship for Italian Citizens.

For application form for the research programme, please refer to the individual department website at http://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/prospective/graduate.htm. For e.g. To apply for admission to the Graduate Research Programme in Department of Economics, please download its application form from the website of the Department of Economics, or of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Application Instructions:

You must:

  1. Complete both the application forms for the Research Programme and the Research Scholarship for Italian citizens
  2. Submit them together with the required supporting documents to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome for endorsement, after which
  3. You must then forward both the forms to the NUS International Relations Office

Due to the lengthy time needed in processing, please prepare all necessary documents early. Kindly allow sufficient time for your application package to arrive in Singapore from Italy.

To avoid any delay in your application evaluation, please ensure that you have thoroughly completed both application forms before submission.

Note:

  1. The award of the NUS Research Scholarship for Italian Citizens is dependent on:
    • the applicant's successful enrolment to a graduate research programme at a NUS Department
    • competition from other eligible Italian applicants
  2. After the release of the application outcome by the Graduate Divisions (about 2 to 3 months prior to the beginning of the semester), candidates who are successful in their application for admission to a graduate research programme and are short-listed for the NUS Research Scholarship for Italian Citizens will be contacted by the NUS International Relations Office to complete the formalities for the award of the Scholarship.
