China Initiatives Steering Committee (CISC) Funding
 

As part of NUS’ continuous efforts to encourage undergraduates to have an international experience in China, funding is available for Singaporean / PR students who are participating in internships, hybrid work and study programmes (including NOC), research attachments, short-term study programmes (such as international summer programmes), or Study Trips for Engagement and Enrichment (STEER) programmes in China.

 
Eligibility
 

NUS undergraduates who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the funding:

 
  • Singaporean Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  • Students who do not have any other financial aid from external sources (except IE Singapore Young Talent Programme).
  • CAP of 3.0 and above, OR other criteria as specified by the programme concerned.
  • Students who do not have a CAP (e.g. Law students) are also eligible to apply for the funding.
  • Endorsement from their relevant faculty/department in NUS prior to applying for this funding.
  • Acceptance into the overseas programme prior to applying for this funding.

 

Application Procedures
 

For NOC programmes in China & Business School Internships in China:

Please apply for the CISC funding directly at the NOC Office or Business School Career Centre. Individual applications will not be accepted at IRO.

For other short-term & special programmes in China such as international summer programmes, international research attachments, international internships, and self-sourced internships:

Please submit the completed application form with the required supporting documents (stated in the instructions of application form) in soft copy to irojt@nus.edu.sg or in hardcopy to Ms Joyce Ting at IRO. If you wish to submit the form at IRO, click here for our address and opening hours.

For either submission method, please indicate “Application for CISC Funding” as the subject.

 

Application Deadline
 

CLOSING DATE OF APPLICATION FOR SUMMER 2013:
For students embarking on a short-term programme in summer 2013, submit your application along with supporting documents by 1 May 2013.

Please note that the processing of your application will be delayed if we do not receive all the required documents.
