NUS Awards for Study Abroad - NASA

NASA Exchange Bursary (Singapore Citizens)

 

NASA Exchange Bursaries are available on a need basis to undergraduate students who are on overseas Student Exchange Programme.

These bursaries are valued up to S$5,000 depending on financial need.

 
Eligibility Criteria
 
 
  • Full time undergraduate students who are Singapore Citizens.
  • Belong to family with gross monthly household per capita income (PCI) not more than S$1,200.Students with a lower PCI will receive a higher bursary quantum.
  • Accepted to go on SEP.


* Gross monthly household per capita income refers to the total income of all those living in the household divided by the number of people in the household.

Conditions for Successful Awards
 
 
  • Applicants may receive at most ONE (1) NASA Exchange Bursary award during their undergraduate study in NUS.
  • Successful recipients of the award may not hold any other financial award/scholarship/bursary/free aid for the same academic year concurrently without approval from IRO and the respective awarding bodies, including those awarded by host universities.
  • For successful recipients who are holders of other scholarships/awards, the amount awarded will be adjusted accordingly, subject to approval by IRO.


In the event that successful recipients are unable to go on SEP, they must write to IRO at iroawards@nus.edu.sg with a full explanation. IRO reserves the right to withdraw the award in such cases and may impose an administrative fee.

The award does not carry a bond. However, all award recipients are encouraged to attend the SEP Ambassador Programme and are expected to be NUS ambassadors to the best of their ability. Awardees must complete the Returnee Survey, and submit a SEP report.

 

Application Procedures
 

You will be able to apply for the NASA Exchange Bursary through the Overseas Programmes Application System (OPAS). If you have applied for financial aid under Office of Admissions, please indicate in OPAS during the acceptance of internal offer. You are also required to fill up the form here and submit the required documents by end May (for semester 1 and full year exchange) and end October (for semester 2 exchange) to the International Relations Office by hand.
