NUS Awards for Study Abroad - NASA


NASA Enhancement Bursary (Singapore Citizens)
 

NASA Enhancement Bursaries are available on a need basis to undergraduate students who are on short-term overseas programmes such as international summer programmes (i-SP), international internships (i-Intern), international research attachment programmes (i-RAP), field studies, etc.

These Enhancement Bursaries are valued up to $3,000 depending on the duration of the programme and financial need.

 
Eligibility Criteria
 
 
  • Singaporean full time undergraduate students.
  • Belong to family with gross monthly household per capita income (PCI) of not more than $1,200.
  • Accepted to go on short-term programme administered by IRO or Faculty/School.
  • Short-term programme should be 4 days and above.


Conditions for Successful Awards
 
 
  • Students may apply for more than one NASA Enhancement Bursary award during their undergraduate study in NUS.
  • Successful recipients of the award may not hold any other financial award/scholarship/bursary/free aid for the same academic year concurrently without approval from IRO or Faculty/School and the respective awarding bodies..
  • For successful recipients who are holders of other scholarships/awards, the amount awarded will be adjusted accordingly, subject to approval by IRO or Faculty/School.


In the event that successful recipients are unable to go on the short-term programme, they must write to IRO or Faculty/School with a full explanation. IRO or Faculty/School reserves the right to withdraw the award in such cases and may impose an administrative fee.

The award does not carry a bond. However, all award recipients are expected to be NUS ambassadors to the best of their ability. Awardees must complete the short-term programme questionnaire, upon his/her return to NUS.

 

Application Procedures
 

For short-term programmes organised by IRO, please apply for the NASA Enhancement Bursary by filling up the application form which can be downloaded here. You will be required to submit the application form together with your family’s income documents to IRO at go-iro@nus.edu.sg.

CLOSING DATE OF APPLICATION FOR SUMMER 2013:
For students embarking on a short-term programme in summer 2013, submit your NASA Enhancement Application along with supporting documents by 1 May 2013. Incomplete application will not be processed.


For short-term programmes organised by your Faculty/School, please approach your Faculty/School for details on the availability of and the application procedures for the NASA Enhancement Bursary.
