Pre-Departure Briefings for NUS Students

We understand that NUS students going out on exchange have a lot of questions before they leave Singapore, and we’re here to help!

We conduct a series of Pre-Departure Briefings before each semester to prepare students on what to expect on their exchange adventure.  We would also invite returning students to share their exchange experiences with students.

The Pre-Departure Briefings cover the following topics:

 
  • Immigration requirements
  • Accommodation
  • Finances
  • Insurance
  • What to bring
  • Arrival & settling in
  • Health & safety
  • Culture shock
  • Cultural differences
  • Peer Advising Programme
  • Important contacts


Invitation to the Pre-Departure Briefings will be sent via email in April and in September by IRO before the selected students leave Singapore for exchange. We strongly encourage students to register and attend these briefings. A list of upcoming Pre-Departure briefings and registration information can be found at NUS Calendar of Events.

After the briefings, the presentation slides will be uploaded onto this website and do return to this website if you need a copy of the presentation
