eZ PARTNERSHIP WITH NUS
The Anti-sway Crane technology is the result of a successful incensing agreement between the company, eZ Crane & Design Pte Ltd, and NUS, on the technology developed by Associate Professor Ong Chong Jin of the Department of Mechanical & Production Engineering in NUS.
Both parties worked closely to further develop the technology that uses the principle of cancellation to eliminate sway even when the crane has simultaneous trolley and hoisting motions. It also includes a feedback mechanism for eliminating sway due to factors such as wind load and any other external disturbances.
eZ Crane & Design Pte Ltd, a spin-off company from BD Cranetech Pte Ltd, started operations in November 2002 with the purpose of venturing into high-end crane technology. The company’s main activity is to market high technology crane components, control system and crane design to other crane manufacturers around the world, China in particular.
ILO’s role was to facilitate the progress of negotiations on behalf of NUS from beginning right up to the signing of the research collaboration agreement, taking into account mutual benefit to the parties. This forms part of ILO’s bigger role of promoting research collaboration between NUS and industry.
