FAQs on Pre-Proposals and E-POPS

What is a pre-proposal?

A pre-proposal is a 1,000 word submission to enable the NUS POC panel to evaluate and comment on the feasibility of the proposed project for application to NRF.
Why do I need to submit a pre-proposal?

NRF requires IHLs to evaluate and endorse all applications made by its respective applicants. The pre-proposal system allows you to submit an application without the time investment required to draft a full proposal.
What do I need to address in a pre-proposal?

You would need to address the following 6 points:

1. Opportunity
2. Proposed Approach
3. Commercialization
4. Deliverables
5. Team and Collaborations
6. Resources and Budget

Your pre-proposal should not exceed 1,000 words.

What is E-POPS?

E-POPS is the Enterprise POC Online Pre-proposal System, created by NUS Enterprise specifically to faciliate submissions and reviews of pre-proposals submitted by NUS staff and students who are interested to apply for the NRF POC grant.
How can I access E-POPS?

NUS staff and students can access E-POPS here. [link]

Please use your NUS email address and password to login.

Do I have to sign up?

If you are accessing E-POPS for the first time, you would be required to sign up. This is allow the system to capture additional information about you which is necessary for the pre-proposal application.

Do note that you should continue to use your NUS email address and password during the signing up process.
