Submission Guidelines
Deadline for Mock-up Digital Poster Submission: 2 May 2012, Wednesday

To participate in this competition, students must submit a mock-up in either PDF or GIF format of their poster not exceeding 1 MB file size on or before 2 May 2012 together with the Application Form to GAI-conf2012@nus.edu.sg. Only individual applications are accepted.

Posters submitted should fall under one of the 7 themes below:
• Ageing
• Asian Cities
• Comparative Asian Studies
• Liveable Cities
• Health
• System Dynamics

Pre-Selection Procedure
A maximum of 30 posters will be shortlisted for presentation at the conference. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by end May.
Presentation during Conference
Shortlisted applicants will be expected to present their posters during the lunch break on Day 2 (Friday, 29th June 2012) of the conference. They will be expected to be at their posters to describe their project and answer questions during the session. The poster must be set up at least 15 minutes prior to the session and must remain up until the end of the session.
Judging Criteria
The posters will be judged by a panel of distinguished academics. The selection of the winning presentations will be based on:

• Originality/Merit – 15%
• Knowledge of subject matter – 35%
• Quality of Writing – 10%
• Appearance of poster – 20%
• Organisation of information – 20%
Poster Specifications
1. The poster should be prepared for display on a single 700 mm wide by
GAI 1000mm tall (portrait layout) display board.
2. The use of colour, pictures, graphs and diagrams should be employed
3. The minimum font size on the posters should not be smaller than font
GAI size 14. A simple sans serif-face font (e.g: Helvetica, Arial) should be
GAI used.
4. Abstract titles, names and affiliations should appear at the bottom right
GAI hand corner of the poster.
5. Velcro strips are to be used to hang posters. The organizer will NOT be
GAI providing the Velcro-strips.
6. Both the production of the poster and associated costs are the
GAI responsibility of the presenters.
Prizes
Winners will be announced during the Closing Plenary on the evening of June 29th. Certificates and Online Gift Vouchers (of USD200, USD150, USD100) will be awarded to first, second and third place winners respectively.
