STEER India 2010

In the STEER India programme, the students attended insightful lectures and seminars
on business practices, culture, politics, sociology, gender issues which were organised
jointly with the University of Hyderabad. In Mumbai, they collaborated with SP Jain
Institute of Management & Research and visited numerous business organisations,
non-governmental organisations and social enterprises, such as the Hyderabad-MV
|
|
Foundation which targets against child labour exploitation and the Kumudben Dwarkadas
Vora Industrial Home for Blind Women, as well as a jewellery factory in Mumbai.
They also enjoyed many opportunities to network with academics, industry leaders
and fellow Singaporeans working in India and also found time to practice yoga.

"The program in Hyderbad covering many aspects such as India's culture, society
and history, was well-compressed in the duration of one week, giving us a very good
introduction and preparation for our classes in Mumbai. Well done for both India
and NUS for the great collaboration"
