Visit by the International Academic Advisory Panels, 2010
The NUS global programmes are internationally benchmarked so that it is comparable
with the best in the world. This is currently achieved through active engagement
and consultations with Visiting Committees and International Advisory Panels for
our Faculties, Academic Departments and Research Institutes as well as accreditations
of our professional degrees.
NUS has formalised a schedule of Visiting Committees for academic departments to
undergo an independent external review which cover both teaching and research quality
and a system of structured follow-up on the reports and recommendations. In addition,
International Advisory Panels, which are advisory in nature, are also arranged.
Being awarded accreditation also ensures that the programmes at NUS are of uniform
and sound quality and they meet the set standards of quality.
NUS also participates actively in international ranking exercises such as the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and is consistently ranked among the world's top 30 universities
and asia's top 2 universities. This
is a strong affirmation of the outstanding work by the NUS faculty and staff in
research and education.
