EUC Teachers' Workshop
"EdUcating for Peace and Cooperation”
In tandem with EU Centre’s aims to promote understanding of the relevance of the EU and its policies, and how these policies affect Singapore and ASEAN, we have developed a one-day teachers’ workshop ‘EdUcating for Peace and Cooperation”. This workshop is targeted at educators who are interested in learning how the EU, a major trading partner of Singapore and ASEAN, cooperate in areas ranging from economic competitiveness to environment to foreign and security policy, and the lessons that Singapore and ASEAN can learn with regards to regional cooperation. The workshop promised to be informative and interactive. Participants will attend talks by two EU policy experts followed by Q&A sessions, thereafter, they will discuss, research, plan and share ideas on aspects of EU policies that can be of relevance and applicability to Singapore and ASEAN. Lesson plans and useful teaching resource material will be developed from these discussions. Educators can use these rich information resources for their teaching and equip their students with knowledge on how countries and regions work together to confront a wide range of issues from environmental challenges to global financial crisis, economic globalisation and security challenges.
