Fund for University Student Enterpreneurs (FUSE)

  • Are there restrictions on the type of business ventures that can join FUSE?

No, FUSE will consider all business ventures that involve innovative or technology-based products, provide value-added market service and demonstrate scalable business potential.

  • Will NUS become a majority shareholder in my company?

No, although 80% of the funds would come from FUSE, NUS would not hold more than 50% of the company shares. NUS wants students to succeed and become entrepreneurs and will not take over control of the company.

  • How else can NUS help me with my new business venture?

NEI will guide you along the selection process and give comments on your business plan to help you improve. Once you're onboard, you will continue to receive help from NEI during regular reviews. In addition, NEI is part of NUS Enterprise, which you can tap on once you're in FUSE. Through NUS Enterprise, you can find partners, mentors, business infrastructure and other networking opportunities.

  • Must my entire team be from NUS?

No, as long as the founder/CEO of the company is from NUS and qualifies for FUSE, the rest of the team can be non-NUS members.

  • If I raise more than S$10,000, can I still apply for FUSE?

Yes, you can but FUSE will only match funds up to S$10,000, ie. the maximum you can get from the NUS Fund for University Student Enterpreneurs (FUSE) is S$40,000.
