The Interactive and Digital Media (IDM) Research and Development (R&D) Programme Office under the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) encourages a R&D culture in the IDM sector with a new grant known as a microfund. This new grant worth up to S$55 000 allows young start-ups or individuals with R&D ideas to seed their ideas through this Micro-funding scheme, thus paving the way to become entrepreneurs in the high-growth IDM space.

Through the efforts of the micro-funding scheme, MDA hopes to seed about 750 projects and create entrepreneurship opportunities for more than 2000 individuals. The nature of the projects should be rooted in innovative R&D and is in an early stage of development but with the potential to create a substantial edge.

Under this scheme, NUS Enterprise has been appointed as one of the mentors to administer the grant on behalf of MDA. As a mentor, NUS Enterprise will provide advice to these start-ups on their ideas given that it has a strong network of experienced mentors, including well-known entrepreneurs and angel investors from Silicon Valley.

To apply, please download the summary sheet here in word format MSWord or in pdf format PDF format, fill it up and email to us at microfund@nus.edu.sg.

We look forward to hearing your business idea and plan and we will be in touch with you as soon as we receive your summary sheet. Thank you for your interest.
