Oct 28 – 31: INTRO in the APRU Pavilion
INTRO is the main organiser of the APRU (Association of Pacific Rim Universities) Pavilion which resides in The Enterprise Exchange exposition of the Global Entrepolis @ Singapore.
The APRU Pavilion, which is 96 square metres in size, hosts the following organisations: APRU Secretariat, Australian National University, Kyoto University, Peking University, National University of Singapore (comprising INTRO, NUS Venture Support and NUS Entrepreneurship Centre), University of Auckland, University of British Columbia, UC Davis, UCLA, University of Oregon, University of Southern California, University of Sydney.
The APRU Pavilion will showcase the APRU universities’ technologies and research expertise on an international platform, demonstrate solidarity within the association and raise the profile of APRU internationally.
INTRO will be showcasing various NUS technologies, in particular, its human interface technologies, hydrogen storage and satellite imaging technologies, as well as technologies developed by the NUS BioInformatics and Drug Design Group. NUS will be joined by a number of its spin-off companies, which are supported by NUS Venture Support.
Come and visit us at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Convention Halls 601 & 602. The APRU Pavilion will be open from 10.00am to 6.00pm on Oct 28 through Oct 30, and from 10.00am to 4.30pm on Oct 31.
INTRO, together with Exploit Technologies Pte Ltd, Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and the IP Academy, is supporting the Intellectual Property & Technology Exploitation Forum 2003, which is one of several conferences within the Global Entrepolis @ Singapore mega event. The main organiser of the Forum is Nanyang Technological University.
INTRO’s Deputy Director Tay Kim Huat is chairing a session, titled “An International Perspective of University Technology Transfer”. Session speakers are from the University of Washington, Auckland Uniservices Ltd and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.
INTRO will also be represented at the Forum’s Dialogue and Consultation, and will showcase at least ten NUS technologies at the Forum’s Marketplace. Both sessions run parallel in the afternoon of Oct 31.

INTRO will be setting up a booth at the Inaugural NUS-SME Conference to raise the awareness among SMEs of our office and its services, and to showcase a number of NUS technologies that are ready for commercialisation. There will also be a technology license signing ceremony with a number of SMEs during the Conference.
The NUS-SME Conference is organised by the NUS Business School and will be held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel from 8.30am to 6.30pm. It is designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and views among business practitioners and academics on the key issues facing SMEs in Singapore. Topics presented include Competing for Markets – Strategies for SMEs and Starting Up and Growing an Enterprise. There will also be panel discussions addressing the Threats and Opportunities for SMEs in China and Taking a Company Public. OSIM’s Ron Sim and Fish & Co’s Ricky Chew are among the speakers. Nov 17: The Nuts and Bolts of Commercialising Biomedical Research
INTRO is organising this seminar to give practical insights into commercialising biomedical research by people who have been there and done that. Guest speakers Prof Casey Chan and Prof Lee Chee Wee will share their experiences on setting up biomedical companies.
In addition, EDB will share on their various funding schemes for biomedical research commercialisation, including a yet-to-be announced initiative.
The seminar will be held at 3.00pm at Lecture Theatre 29 at NUS. Admission is free. Please join us!
