Temasek Research Fellowship (TRF)
NUS Kent Ridge Campus
The Temasek Research Fellowship (TRF) is a scheme aimed at recruiting outstanding young researchers at the post-doctoral level. Temasek Research Fellows (TRF-RF) will undertake research as Principal Investigators and lead teams in defence-related research in the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Terms and conditions
The TRF is a 3-year fellowship with an option to extend up to another 3 years. During the term, the TRF-RF may be engaged to co-supervise post-graduate students or conduct university courses in relevant topics. The TRF-RF will receive an attractive remuneration package and separate funding for research in an area offered under the Fellowship. At the end of the term, the TRF-RF may be offered a faculty appointment by the university.
The TRF-RF may conduct research at Temasek Laboratories or other research entities at NUS. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their research proposal with the relevant Programme Managers (PM) before submitting the application. The research areas for the TRF 2010 Award are:
Temasek Laboratories at NUS
Interested parties who wish to propose any other fundamental areas of science or technology research where a breakthrough may be of significant impact to Singapore's defence may also apply. New research focus areas may be added for subsequent years.
Eligibility
Outstanding scientists and researchers with a Ph.D Degree in the relevant discipline of science or technology from a reputable university are eligible to apply for the TRF.
Research project proposals which are already funded by other agencies or are being considered for funding by other agencies are not eligible for funding under the TRF scheme. The TRF-RF shall not apply for other funding support, unless approval has been given by the TRF funding agency.
