With a vision of becoming a global knowledge enterprise, NUS understands the importance of partnerships and collaborations with its counterparts. In addition to its research funding initiatives, the University also has programmes which allow researchers to explore collaborations with its foreign counterparts.
The university works with agencies
such as the Japan Society for the
Promotion of Science (JSPS), the French
Embassy in Singapore, the International
Alliance of Research Universities (IARU)
and local Polytechnics to promote
scientific exchanges and internships
with the aim of fostering joint academic
and research partnerships culminating in
the university’s development as a key
node in the global knowledge network.
These collaborative programmes give our
researchers the means to engage more
frequently with overseas collaborators
and to train young talents from local
institutions
In keeping with the University's aim to
forge strong links between research and
graduate education, NUS is also an
active participant of the National
Science Foundation's
East Asia & Pacific Summer Institutes
for U.S. Graduate Students (EAPSI). Since it was introduced to Singapore in
2008, NUS has supported 46 interns under
the programme. The 8-week programme aims
to immerse graduate students from the
U.S. to science, engineering and
research activities undertaken at East
Asian and Pacific universities and/or
research institutions.
