Programme & Projects
The Office of the Deputy President (Research & Technology), or ODPRT, administers over 100 research grant programmes. These grant programmes are supported from internal and/or external sources and offer research funding on competitive and non-competitive bases.
1. The ODPRT Research Grant Programme Call Calendar provides an overview of grant call dates associated with grant programmes administered by ODPRT. The dates are indicative and may be subject to change.
2. Principal Investigators and researchers interested in submitting an application to any of these programmes should refer to the ODPRT Research Grant Programme Call Schedule for actual programme call dates and further information on application procedure. This schedule is regularly updated with the latest grant call information.
3. In January 2018, ODPRT introduced the ODPRT Research Funding Opportunities newsletter. The monthly e-publication is a compendium of useful information on funding opportunities and highlights new, on-going and upcoming grant calls offered by local and overseas agencies/foundations. Updated monthly, the newsletter directs the reader to specific areas of interests by grouping calls according to specific domains. Past issues are accessible below:
4. Not all externally-funded research activites are supported through grant programmes. Researchers may, from time-to-time, be invited by industry to perform consultation work or commissioned work. Regardless of the channel in which the support is extended, researchers who intend to collaborate or receive funding from external parties must ensure that the necessary approvals and documentations are drawn up.
