Information on Academic Dress
Online Order of Academic Dress
The NUS Co-op offers both the sale and rental of Academic Dress for Commencement 2013. The online ordering for the Academic Dress will be available from 15 March to 12 June 2013. Payments for the purchase and rental of the Academic Dress will be made upon collection. After submitting your order, please print a copy of the online order form and present it when you collect the Academic Dress. Upon collection, please present your student card, NRIC or passport for verification purposes.
Graduates who missed the online ordering deadline can go to the Academic Dress Distribution Centre to order and collect the Academic Dress on the spot, subject to the availability of stock and sizes.
Sale and Rental of Academic Dress
The charges for the sale and rental of Academic Dress are as follows:

Above rates are for one set of Academic Dress and applicable to only current-year graduates.
The rental deposit will be refunded when the Academic Dress is returned without damages. Damages refer to cutting or alterations of any kinds, burns, tears, rips and run in fabric, holes, discoloration, stains, hot iron marks, glue marks, scotch tape marks and missing buttons. Damages will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Payment
For Self-Collection, payment is made on the day you collect the Academic Dress. Payment can be made in cash / through Nets and credit card (administrative fee applies) at the Multi-purpose Sports Hall 1, Sports & Recreation Centre.
For Home Delivery, please make your cheque payable to "NUS Co-op" and state your full Name, Student Number and Online Order Reference Number behind it. Mail your cheque to:

Your cheque must reach us by 14 June 2013 or your request will be regarded as ‘Self-Collection’. The cheque amount should include the following:
- Purchase price with GST, or rental price with deposit and GST.
- Home delivery fee of $20.00
Collection of Academic Dress
Please check the collection schedule for your degree (available on 1 June 2013).
The Academic Dress will be distributed at the Multi-purpose Sports Hall 1, Sports & Recreation Centre, from 27 June to 2 July 2013. Distribution hours are:

If you are unable to collect your Academic Dress personally, you may appoint someone to collect on your behalf. You will need to download and complete the Collection Authorization Form (PDF, 80KB) and the authorized person must present the following during collection:
- The duly completed and signed Collection Authorization Form
- A copy of graduate's Student Card (or NRIC or Passport)
- A copy of authorized person’s NRIC/ Passport
Delivery Service
We can arrange to deliver the Academic Dress to you within the main island of Singapore at a charge of $20.00 (inclusive of 7% GST). The option for Home Delivery is given in the online order form.
The Academic Dress will be packed with your Invitation Package, which consists of your Graduate Attendance Card and two invitation cards for your guests.
Cheque for the purchase or rental (including deposit) with GST must reach us by 14 June 2013 or your request will be regarded as "self-collection".
Return of Rented Academic Dress
If you have rented the Academic Dress, you may return the Academic Dress immediately after your Commencement ceremony. NUS Co-op has a counter to process such returns at the Commencement ceremony venue. Your deposit will be refunded to you in cash, provided the Academic Dress is returned without damages. Please provide the rental receipt and student card (or NRIC or Passport) for verification purpose.
After Commencement, you may return the Academic Dress to NUS Co-op @ Forum, from 21 to 25 September 2013, 9.30am to 7.00pm on weekdays, and 9.30am to 3.00pm on Saturdays. Your deposit will be refunded to you in cash, provided the Academic Dress is returned without damages. Please provide the rental receipt and student card (or NRIC or Passport) for verification purpose.
If the rented Academic Dress is not returned to NUS Co-op by 25 September 2013, your deposit will be forfeited.
If you are unable to return the Academic Dress personally, you may authorize someone to return it on your behalf. Please download and complete the Return Authorization Form (PDF, 85KB) if you wish to do so. The authorized person must present the following:
- The duly completed and signed Return Authorization Form
- A copy of graduate's Student Card (or NRIC or Passport)
- A copy of authorized person's NRIC/ Passport
