Q1. I have forgotten my NUSNET password. Are there other ways for me to register my attendance?
Registration of attendance for Commencement is done mainly through the Online Attendance Registration System.
For alumni (i.e. you have earlier been conferred your degree), you can send an email to itcare@nus.edu.sg to request for a password reset.
For current students who are expecting to graduate, please bring along your Student Card to Computer Centre Level 1 to request for a password reset. You can refer to the NUSNET Password Guide for more information.
Once you have reset your NUSNET password, you can proceed to register your attendance for Commencement via the Online Attendance Registration System.

Eligibility
Q1. I am graduating in Semester 1, can I register for Commencement now or should I wait till further notice by email / letter?
The Online Attendance Registration System opens from 12 Dec 2012 to 12 Jun 2013. During this period, you may proceed to register your attendance if you have successfully fulfilled all graduation requirements and have either filed for graduation or received your conferment letter.
All information on Commencement matters will be disseminated at the Commencement website and reminders will be sent to graduates/prospective graduates’ NUS email account. Graduates/ Prospective graduates are advised to check the website and their NUS email account regularly for the most up-to-date information.
Q2. I did not receive the email invitation for Commencement. How can I check on this and register for Commencement?
This could be due to one or more of the following:
- you have not filed for graduation
- you have filed for graduation (FFG) but your Faculty has yet to update your FFG status
- your student email account is full and unable to receive any emails
- a technical fault has occurred
- For scenario 1: please proceed to file for graduation
- For scenario 2: please check with your Faulty Dean’s Office on your FFG status.

Q3. I have changed my status from “File for Honours” to “File for Graduation”, but I still cannot log in to register my attendance. Does this mean I cannot graduate?
Please contact your Faculty Dean’s Office on the status of the conversion from “File for Honours” to “File for Graduation” and your eligibility to graduate.
Q4. Is it possible to register my attendance for Commencement before the actual submission of my Master/PhD thesis online?
No, you can only register your attendance for Commencement after you have submitted your thesis to the Electronic Thesis and Dissertation system and upon verification by your Faculty that your thesis submitted is in order.
Q5. I am not attending the Commencement ceremony. Do I need to inform my Faculty or the University?
Please log in to the Online Attendance Registration System and indicate “No” for your attendance.
Q6. I am a student from the Concurrent Degree Programme (internal) / Double Degree Programme (internal). Which ceremony should I attend?
For students graduating from either the Concurrent Degree Programme (internal) or Double Degree programme (internal), you are allowed to attend one or both ceremonies where your degrees are presented.
If you are attending both ceremonies, both of your degree scrolls and complimentary transcripts will be given to you at the first ceremony that you attend.
Q7. I am a student from the University Scholars Programme (USP). Am I only allowed to attend one ceremony, i.e. the USP ceremony?
For students graduating from the University Scholars Programme (USP), you are allowed to attend both the USP and your Home Faculty’s ceremonies.
Your degree scroll and complimentary transcript will be given to you only at the USP ceremony. If you are unable to attend the USP ceremony, you will be able to collect your degree scroll and complimentary transcript from the Registrar’s Office. Please click here for the collection schedule.

Q1. How can I check if my registration of attendance and request for additional invitation cards are successful?
To check your registration of attendance, you may login to the Online Attendance Registration System to verify/amend your registration anytime from now till 12 Jun 2013. The system will remain accessible until 12 Jun 2013.
To check your request for additional invitation cards, you may view the outcome of your request via this link at the Commencement website from 24 Jun 2013 onwards.
Q2. I have completed my online registration of attendance but did not receive any confirmation email. Should I be receiving the confirmation email immediately or it will be sent only after the registration closes?
An acknowledgement email will be sent to your NUS student email account immediately after you have completed the online registration of attendance. However, the delivery of the acknowledgement email may be disrupted occasionally due to the high volume of email via the “commencement@nus.edu.sg” email account during the registration period.
Nevertheless, you can login to the Online Attendance Registration System to verify/amend your registration anytime from now till 12 Jun 2013. The system will remain accessible until 12 Jun 2013.
Q3. I have registered for Commencement earlier but I have decided now to proceed with the Honours programme. Will I be able to cancel my registration for Commencement?
Yes, you can log in to the Online Attendance Registration System to amend your registration anytime from now till 12 Jun 2013. The system will remain accessible until 12 Jun 2013.
Q4. I have been awarded an Honours degree but it was not indicated in the Online Attendance Registration System. Is there an error in the system on my degree awarded?
The Online Attendance Registration System only shows the general degree title and does not show any indication of Honours specific to the graduates. However, please be assured that the right degree as stated in your conferment letter will be presented to you at the Commencement ceremony.
