* As the seat numbers are computer-generated, those who do not register online by 10 June 2008 will not be sitting with their graduating cohort, or be presented according to their class of honours/major.

April Ceremony Schedule
(For all graduates and potential graduates)
Find out the ceremony date and time for each faculty.
26 April to 10 May Semester 2 Examinations
(For students sitting the Semester 2 Exams)
Submission of the "Request for Special Consideration" form to explain absence from examinations etc. must reach the Dean's Office of your home faculty by 13 May 2008 noon.

30 to 31 May Online Release of Semester 2 Examination Results
(For Bachelor's degree students)
Inform your home Faculty (Dean's Office) should you change your earlier decision on graduation within 3 calendar days of the online release of examination results for your Faculty.

2008 Registration
(For all graduates and potential graduates)
All names not received by the Registrar's Office by the end of this day will not be eligible to attend the Commencement ceremonies in 2008. All students are advised to ensure the following:

  • that you have updated your Commencement attendance in the Registration System;
  • that you are working closely with your faculty administrators on any changes to your graduation status following decisions/requests made after the release of the examination results (especially for undergraduate students and coursework graduate students)
  • that your theses must be uploaded to Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations by 12 noon on 9 June 2008 (only for research graduate students).

16 June Information on Availability of Additional Invitation Cards
2008 Registration
(For graduates who are interested to have more than two invitation cards for their parents/guests)
Each graduate who has indicated his/her attendance will be given 2 invitation cards for parents/guests. In lieu of the 2 invitation cards, each valedictorian and award winner will be given 4 and 2 VIP cards respectively. These invitation cards may be collected together with the academic dress at the Multi-Purpose Sports Hall.

Information on the availability of additional cards will be released at this website on 16 June 2008. If spare cards are available for the ceremony you are attending, you may submit your request for additional cards via the online request form (available on 16 June 2008). The outcome of your request will be released at the same website on 24 June 2008.

18 June Seating Arrangement
of Graduates

(For those who have registered their
attendance by 10 June)
You may check your seat number here if you have registered your attendance online before 10 June 2008. Otherwise, please refer to the seat number printed on the Graduate Attendance Card. The card will be given to you when you collect your academic dress at the Multi-Purpose Sports Hall. If you have not ordered the academic dress, you are still required to go to the Multi-Purpose Sports Hall at the scheduled time to collect the package of the Graduate Attendance/Invitation Cards.

Graduates are requested to collect their Invitation Package (which includes a Graduate Attendance Card and two Invitation Cards for their parents/guests) and their Academic Dress (if they have ordered) according to the collection schedule to avoid long waiting time.

22 July onwards Collection of Degree Scrolls
(For those who do not attend the ceremonies)
Degree scrolls are given out during the Commencement ceremonies.
