Windows 8 at NUS
Windows 8 was released for general availability on 26 October 2012 to much fanfare.
You will be pleased to know that there is a list of applications used by the University community that is compatible with Windows 8. Click here for the applications that were already tested by the Computer Centre for Windows 8 compatibility.
In addition, staff and students are advised to exercise their own discretion when opting for Windows 7 or Windows 8 when purchasing new notebooks or desktops. You should consider the applications that you intend to run before selecting the operating system (OS). The easy way to get Windows 8 is to purchase a new desktop or notebook with Windows 8 pre-installed.
As with any new OS, one should keep an open mind and have patience in learning a different User Interface (UI). You may discover new tips and tricks in Windows 8 to improve your productivity and efficiency!
