NUS earned the distinction of becoming the first tertiary institution in the Asia-Pacific region to have a campus-wide smart card system in 1991.
The entire campus community have been issued with personalised smart cards which are used for identification purposes as well as for a wide range of functions such as for the loan of books in the University libraries, booking of sports and recreation facilities, and secured access to major facilities in NUS round the clock, including research laboratories, computer clusters and resource centres.
Your Personalise Identification Number (PIN) associated with your smart card is given to you with your card. You should never disclose it to others at all times.
Your PIN number can be used to access several eServices as well as gain access into designated areas (eg. Computer clusters, offices, laboratories, etc). Do not lose your PIN number.
In the event that you forget your PIN number, you can retrieve it online.
