How to check if I’m using POP3, IMAP4 or Exchange on my email client to access NUSmail?

Microsoft Outlook

When using Microsoft Outlook, it is recommended to use Exchange to access NUSmail to experience its full functionality.

Outlook 2003:

From Outlook, click on Tools > Email Accounts > View or Change Existing Email Accounts > check the type of account which you are using.

 

Outlook 2007:

From Outlook, click on Tools > Account Settings > under Email tab, check the type of account which you are using.

 

Outlook 2010:

From Outlook, click on File > Info > Account Settings > Account Settings > under the Email tab, check the type of account which you are using.

  

Outlook 2011 (for Mac):

From Outlook, click on Tools > Accounts > check against the email account to know the type of account.

 

Windows Live Mail

Windows Live Mail only supports POP and IMAP.

From Live Mail, click on Tools > Accounts > double-click on the email account.

Under the Servers tab, check the server information on whether it’s POP3 or IMAP.

 

Mozilla Thunderbird (for Windows and Mac)

Thunderbird only supports POP and IMAP.

From Thunderbird, click on Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings > check the server type.

Macintosh Mail

From Mac Mail, click on Mail > Preferences > Accounts > on the left panel, check the account type.
