How To Read Emails With Digital Signatures In Outlook Web Access
Emails with digital signatures need to be un-hashed before they can be read. Outlook Web Access enables users to read digitally-signed emails with an additional plugin to the Internet Explorer browser.
To enable the plugin, simply login to your own mailbox in Outlook Web Access and navigate to Options -> Email Security. Click on the Download button to install the S/MIME control. If the Re-install button is available instead, this means that the plugin has already been installed.
Once the S/MIME control has been installed, you should be able to read digitally signed emails in Outlook Web Access.
Note: To read encrypted emails, your private key should be located in the local computer's certificate store. However for reading digitally-signed email, this is not necessary.
