NUS Mobilemail & More with Windows Mobile Devices
 Tan Teng Heng

In the last two issues, we shared with you how you can use your handphone to chat with your  colleagues with NUS Instant Messaging (IM) and how to search for an office contact with NUS Mobile Directory's mobile application.  In this issue I will let you know how you can also use the same device with Windows Mobile (WM) Operating System (OS) to read and reply to your emails anytime, anywhere.

So, if you’re called away from your desk for whatever reason and you need to urgently follow up with somebody on something really important, all you need now is your nifty little handphone, wireless internet  connection, and you're back in business!

The WM OS is from Microsoft, which brings the familiar ‘Start’ button you see on your desktop to your hand.  It even comes with a mobile version of Pocket Excel, Word and Powerpoint.  It also replaces your Filofax as your Personal Information Manager (PIM), with Calendaring, Phone Numbers, Notepad, Task Lists and more.  You can even make use of Wireless@SG to make free calls with Skype. With WM devices, it brings mobility to an even higher level than a notebook does.

Most Windows Mobile devices come with camera, video call, Wireless Connectivity (Wi-Fi, *GPRS, **HSDPA, Bluetooth), mp3 cum video playback and Global Positioning System (GPS – location navigation).  Please click here for models from Microsoft Windows Mobile Website.

If you have any University application that you would like to see on your WM devices, send me an !
