Type of Passwords
NUSNET Password
Also known as exchange / networking password. NUSNET accounts and passwords are issued to NUS members when they join the community. This account is heavily used by most of us daily for accessing campus network resources, reading emails, surfing internet, etc.
ESS Password (staff and postgraduates only)
This password is used for accessing Electronic Payslip. This password is rarely in use because our single sign-on feature during login allows you to access to the payslip without the need of entering the password at all. You only need to use this password if your workstation is unable to login to our domain, eg. Macintosh, Windows XP Home Edition does not support domain login.
Oracle Password (staff only)
Also known as NUS Admin password, admin staff usually have these passwords to gain access to the NUS Admin System to perform payroll checking, generating work requests, etc.

Administrator Password
Most of the time, our computers are already pre-configured to accept our NUS UserID as an administrator to our computers. That means we can basically login to our computers daily using our NUSNET UserID and have full access rights to our computers.
However, many of us are not aware that we do have an administrator password in our computers that are running on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.Both Windows 2000 and XP have a built-in Administrator account. This account gives the person using it unlimited access over the system and its settings and controls.
It may be shocking to realize that there is such a powerful password in your machine that remained unaware by most of us. So this page is going to highlight on how can you secure your administrator password by applying a strong password.
