Policy for Oracle Accounts
Password Policy:
- Whenever you request for reset of password, you will be prompted to change your password upon 1st login. This will also apply to new accounts created after 31 Jan 2005.
- Your password must have a minimum of 8 characters (combination of letters and numbers) and not too simple to be easily guessed (e.g. same as your account). It should also differ from the previous password by at least 3 characters.
- You will not be able to reuse your last 6 passwords for a period of 1 year.
- Your password will expire after every 180 days if left unchanged. A grace period of 10 days will be given, whereby a warning message will inform you that your password is expiring. Within this grace period, you can still use your current password, or you may proceed to change to a new one via the "Change User's Oracle Password" option in the NUS Admin System. After the grace period is over, you will automatically be prompted to change the password on subsequent login.
- When your attempts to login are unsuccessful for more than 3 times consecutively, your account will automatically be locked. To request for account unlock, please
refer to Account Unlock / Reset Password.
Login Sessions
- If you leave your login session idle for more than 4 hours, it will be terminated and you need to login again. Any unsaved data will be lost, so do remember to save your data regularly, especially if you will be away for an extended period.
- The maximum number of login sessions allowed at any one time is 3. Any attempt to login a 4th session will be rejected with an error.
Note: This password policy only works for NUS Admin 2000. If you are still on NUS Admin 95, please upgrade your version from webshopping.
