- Commissioned the state-of-the-art Educational Resource Centre in the University Town equipped with 24 by 7 access, high-speed Wi-Fi connection, computers of dual-displays and customized furnishing layouts to support various learning activities co-existing in the same physical space.
- NUS became one of three Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) global facilities and helped many countries gain DNS protection without needing to build and maintain their own costly security facilities. DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) guards against the cyber threat of counterfeit websites that look like the original ones.
- First 'live' demonstration over Internet-2 and IPv6 by the NUS musicians in the Asian Telemusic Concert at the Musicacoustica festive in Beijing by remotely playing the musical instruments at the University of Waikato, New Zealand.
- Successful implementation of an institutional-wide IT Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) methodology with the aim to achieve strategic alignment between business and IT, optimize resources and minimize inherent risks.
