- Established the second Internet Point-of-Presence (POP) in Hong Kong which had further enhanced the Internet performance, diversity, reliability and reachability to the organizations in the region.
- Proudly achieved Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework and ISO 27001 certification on InfoComm security, network services, system services, database administration and data centre operations, and setting best practice in security management in Higher Education.
- Facilitated real-time detection of and response to security incidents through adoption of Log Correlation technologies, sifting through and cross-referencing millions of log records from over 350 critical servers and network devices.
- Twelve research projects in areas of life and physical sciences, environmental study and financial engineering were awarded prize money for achieving excellent application speedup and impactful results in the Computer Centre HPC Challenge Competition.
- A landmark success for the rollout of an Integrated Student Information System (ISIS) following over 21 months of efforts and achieving consolidation, standardization and integration of processes, systems, data and resources from over 63 departments.
- NUS became the first institution in Singapore with implementation of Oracle’s Peoplesoft Enterprise Campus Solution Version 9.0 following the successful campus-wide rollout of the Integrated Student Information System (ISIS).
- Roll-out of Faculty ePortfolio, providing an integrated repository and one-stop access to current and past academic achievements, awards and contributions in teaching, research and services for University records and academic appraisal.
- Computer Centre was awarded NUS Service Class Commitment to Service Excellence, recognizing the leadership of Computer Centre on service excellence and staff’s efforts on continuously seeking improvement to enhance customer experience.
- Defined Data Management Policy and developed guidelines for classification of NUS data based on impacts should data be compromised.
- NUS adopted Cloud services first-time as opposed to in-house development or internal hosting for Alumni Email on Microsoft Live@edu and collaboration tool on Cisco WebEx, cutting short implementation time, system management and operational overheads.
