As a premier and trusted IT partner in higher education, NUS Computer Centre provides reliable, high-performance and secure infrastructure and effective IT governance and services that support teaching, learning, research and administrative functions for 10,000 staff and 37,000 students.

Our mission is to spearhead the development of reliable, secure, versatile and high-performing infrastructure and innovative solutions for business enablement and transformation in the higher education sphere.

In collaboration with the faculties and departments, the Computer Centre provides central IT governance and management, particularly in the areas of strategic planning, disaster recovery, academic and administrative computing and enterprise IT security.

Besides serving the NUS community, Computer Centre works closely with industry partners such as the IHL-CIO Forum, SingAREN, IDA and many more to share and implement the best practices and developments in information technology.

Embodying best practices in security management in higher education institutes, NUS Computer Centre achieved adherence to the Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework and ISO 27001 certification for Infocomm security, network services, system services, database administration and data centre operations.

    NUS unveils eduroam service that allows NUS students and staff to use their NUSNET account for WiFi access at overseas universities

  • 2011

    NUS Computer Centre housed one of three hardened facilities (Singapore, Zurich, Switzerland and San Jose, California) to provide key cyber security to Internet users around the world; facility provides cryptographic security using the Domain Name System Security (DNSSEC) protocol.

    Conferred the CIO Asia Award 2006 for Tera-Scale Campus Grid project that harnessed idle CPU power from over 1,300 personal computers on campus for high-performance research computing, resulting in savings of more than SGD2 million in hardware investment

    Launch of NUS LargeMail broke new ground by offering capacious mailbox capacity of 10 GB for every faculty/staff member and 1 GB to every student

  • 2005

    Successfully implemented one of the largest IP telephony networks in the Asia-Pacific region with the deployment of 5,500 IP phones for the faculty and staff
