About Us

NUS Computer Centre is the cornerstone to providing reliable, high-performance and secure IT infrastructure and effective IT governance and services for the campus.

Its primary mission is to transform NUS into a borderless computing community providing knowledge at its fingertips by enhancing the use of effective applications and services for teaching and learning.

In collaboration with the faculties and departments, the Computer Centre is provides central IT governance and management, particularly in the areas of strategic planning, disaster recovery, academic and administrative computing and enterprise IT security.

Our services also include business warehousing, grid computing, data management, green computing, enterprise architecture and high-performance computing.

  • 1990

    NUS became the birthplace of the Internet in Singapore

  • 2005

    Successfully implemented one of the largest IP telephony networks in the Asia-Pacific region with the deployment of 5,500 IP phones for the faculty and staff

  • 2006

    Launch of NUS LargeMail broke new ground by offering capacious mailbox capacity of 10 GB for every faculty/staff member and 1 GB to every student

  • 2006

    Conferred the CIO Asia Award 2006 for Tera-Scale Campus Grid project that harnessed idle CPU power from over 1,300 personal computers on campus for high-performance research computing, resulting in savings of more than SGD2 million in hardware investment

    Awarded the MIS Asia 2008 IT Excellence Award for the Best Security Strategy Category, demonstrating our strengths among Asia’s best enterprises and organisations
