Established since 1986, the ExxonMobil Campus Concerts (EMCC) has set the stage for student talents and professional artistes to reach out to audiences on and off the NUS campus. Sponsored by ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, EMCC originally started as Campus Concerts when it was established in 1984. It later adopted the name ExxonMobil Campus Concerts in 1999 to reflect its affiliation with its sole sponsor.
EMCC has been one of the most successful programmes introduced by CFA, maintaining its identity as a free-admission outreach platform featuring student talents and professional artists. Beyond the NUS campus, EMCC shows have also been brought to off-campus venues such as the Singapore Botanic Gardens, The Plaza @ National Library Building, Library @ Esplanade, amongst others.
Since its inception, EMCC has played host to international artists such as classical pianists Konstantin Scherbakov (Russia), Alexey Botvinov (Ukraine), and Geoffrey Saba (UK). Local arts groups such as Singapore Dance Theatre, Singapore Lyric Opera, Bhaskar’s Arts Academy have also performed on our stage. Popular local artists such as Dick Lee, Tanya Chua, Jessica Soo, and Kit Chan, and foreign artistes Charlie Young (Hong Kong), Dadawa (China), and Panda Xiong (Taiwan) were also featured in previous seasons. In 2007, we partnered WOMAD to present WOMAD on Campus as part of the EMCC Opening Show, and in 2008 and 2009, we collaborated with Timbre Music to present Timbre MusicFest on Campus.
The EMCC season runs every August to October and January to March with weekly performances being featured. Other than being a performance platform, EMCC also serves as a nurturing ground for students who have a keen interest in event management and production. Our events are supported by a dedicated team of NUS undergraduates as student crew. More information about the EMCC Crew can be found here.
