Chan Siew Kee

Master Chan Siew Kee is currently the lead instructor of NUS Lion Dance. He has been appointed as Honorable Lion Dance Advisor and Main Speaker of Federation of Selangor and Federal Territory Dragon and Lion Dance Association. He is also the Main Speaker for Singapore National Wushu Federation for the 1st National Lion Dance Conference.
Born in 1947, Master Chan Siew Kee has vast experiences in the Lion Dance cultural form.
He joined the Singapore Hok San Association's Lion Dance Troupe at an early age of 8 and was accepted the "humble kneeling disciple" of the late Master Ho Kai Seng. He was the founding member of Singapore Hok Kiaw Athletic Association in 1972 and has represented the association in an 8-days round-island performance in Taiwan where he led and choreographed the performance for a strong contingent of 60 members.
Master Chan was appointed as Judge and Member of Lion Dance Technical Committee by the Singapore National Wushu Federation in 1985. He was further appointed as the Lead Drummer for a spectacular display of 200 prancing "lions" during the 25th Silver Anniversary National Day Parade 1990. In 1994, he was the Chief Architect and Planner of the 1st National Drum Beating Competition in Singapore. Master Chan was then honored as a National Judge by the Singapore National Wushu Federation in the same year.
Master Chan chose and accepted disciples all over the world. His disciples are Kok Koon Sang, Loo Kien Cheong, Siow Ho Phiew, Ngan Seong Bun, Hiew Yun Cheong, Ong Chin Guan, Lee Hsiao Liang, Pee Kian Chuan and Loh Han Long.
