Assistant Manager / Senior Executive (Student Services @ BTC) Office of Student Affairs

To deliver excellent customer service at the Student Services @ BTC (via counter, telephone, email and web) and facilitate student activities at Bukit Timah Campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

Administration

  • Perform and oversee the operations of the Student Services @ BTC to provide excellent customer service.
  • Periodic review of processes to meet evolving needs.
  • Prepare periodic reports and statistics from the Customer Relationship Management system, Electronic Queue Management system and other in house IT system.
  • Liaise with vendors for supplies and services.

Customer Service

  • Constantly improve service culture and performance through KPI tracking and analysis.
  • Lead team in professional and personable service delivery.
  • Meet the service standards established for counter, telephone, emails and web-site.
  • Establish needs of customers and actively seek to exceed their expectation.
  • Enhance the physical environment of the centre to provide a pleasant and comfortable service experience.
  • Strategise collation of customer feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Identify suitable training courses for team members.
  • Create Quality Service Manual to maintain quality service delivery.

Communication

  • Carry out periodic review of content hosted on website, FAQs and printed collateral.
  • Manage correspondence and communication with stakeholders.

Public Relations

  • Establish effective working relationship with faculties and departments to evolve a seamless student service at Bukit Timah campus and Kent Ridge campus.
  • Communicate service standards to partners and promote common targets.
  • Work with faculties and departments to evolve a seamless student service across the university.
  • Conduct periodic dialogues with partners and students.

Student Activities

  • Engage student groups in Bukit Timah campus to organise or facilitate activities to bring vibrancy to Bukit Timah campus.

Finance

  • Assist the Section Head to plan and manage the budget for Student Services @ BTC.

Human Resource

  • Assist the Section Head to manage a team of staff including their recruitment, appraisal, counseling and career development.
  • Plan and source for casual manpower to meet cyclical peaks.

Others

  • Participation in Working Committees and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • University degree with at least 3 years experience in customer service;
  • Analytical, possess good process, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Commitment to customer service and continuous quality improvement;
  • Cheerful and pleasant disposition;
  • Driven and creative in undertaking start-up projects;
  • Resourceful with good organization and planning skills

Assistant Manager / Executive (Student Organisations) Office of Student Affairs

To promote vibrant student life and development of student leaders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide advisory to the 10 NUS Faculty Clubs.
  • Engage staff advisors of Faculty Clubs in taking ownership of supervising/ approving events and projects organised by the respective student clubs.
  • Provide advisory and guidance on the management and activities of the NUS Graduate Students' Society.
  • Oversee and monitor the use of the Graduate Students' Activity Fee to provide useful initiatives and activities benefitting the NUS graduate student population.
  • Undertake review of constitutions for NUSSU and Constituent Clubs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in any discipline with at least 4 years of relevant work experience;
  • A strong command in spoken and written English;
  • Competency in facilitation and project management;
  • Passion in working with students in a cross-cultural environment;
  • Able to multi-task;
  • Forward looking team player with ability to work independently

Manager/Assistant Manager (Career Advisor)

To conduct workshops, develop students in their career preparation and engage prospective employers who are keen to hire NUS students for internships and jobs. Attached to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, you will foster greater engagement with students, faculty, alumni and establish relationships with employers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct workshops in areas such as career planning, resume and cover letters writing, interview skills and other soft skills
  • Conduct career counseling sessions to help undergraduates, postgraduates and young alumni explore relevant curriculum and careers that match their interests, values and skills
  • Obtain employment opportunities for students and support employers in their internships and graduate recruitment activities
  • Assist the NUS Career Centre in the organization of student and employer events e.g. Career talks, On-campus interviews, Career Fairs, Networking sessions etc
  • Write and edit career materials and articles for students
  • Conduct research on student career needs
  • Engage and liaise with NUS faculties and departments
  • Any other student related matters

Requirements:

  • A recognized bachelors/masters degree, preferably in Science
  • Advising or counseling experiences will be advantages
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in teaching and/or human resource recruitment/ management/ development, preferably from the pharmaceutical, healthcare, biomedical or banking industries
  • Passion for teaching with a high level of energy to engage bright, highly-driven students
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team to meet tight timelines and achieve goals
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Versatile and able to work under pressure and a good team player
  • Gives attention to details and able to multi-task
  • IT savvy, proficient in the use of CRMs and other computer software
  • Familiarity with social online mediums
