Designer (Form Development) Division of Industrial Design
Duties & Responsibilities
  • To identify emerging trend and develop new projects from concept to production and sales
  • Manage communication and sales order of the d.lab brand or other similar product line created by Design Incubation Center (DIC)
  • Manage the series production of objects with internal team and external vendors

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an industrial design program
  • Keen awareness and understanding of current technology, fashion, & lifestyle trends
  • High level of sensitivity to forms, colors and trend
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes for one-off and batch production
  • Good hands-on skill with the craft and making process
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to details

Design Engineer Division of Industrial Design
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with designers as a team to implement the concept to a proof-of concept product
  • Design and fabricate the design concept
  • Work with team members and external collaborators and vendors
  • Management of projects in close collaboration with clients/collaborators and the Director of Design Incubation Center (DIC)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to engage people
  • Able to plan, manage and conduct production development

Manager/Senior Executive (Business Development) Division of Industrial Design
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Report to the Director of Design Incubation Center (DIC)
  • Seek out investors and industry partners to commercialize Division of Industrial Design (DID) and DIC projects
  • Develop the tool pipe from concepts to commercialization
  • Identify new business opportunities and maintain good relationships with partners
  • Work in close collaboration with Industry Liaison Office (ILO)
  • Develop a network of investors, funding agencies, industries which will aid in the future commercialization of projects
  • Engage in the promotion and communication of the strengths of DID to the industry through forums, exhibitions, press relations
  • Draft and submit grant and business proposals
  • Work closely with the design team to develop identified projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in similar role
  • Understanding the value of design to generate growth for businesses
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong in negotiation skills and closing business relationships
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent language skills. Spoken and written
