Manager / Assistant Manager (Global Education) International Relations Office

IRO's Global Education (SEP) section administers NUS' Student Exchange Programme (SEP) with overseas partner universities, and also develops collaboration with potential partner universities. Within the section, a Section Head oversees a team of officers who are each responsible for administering and developing collaboration with the partner universities and regions/countries under their purview. This position is for a Manager / Assistant Manager in the section, who will be responsible for administering partner universities in Canada, Mexico and South America.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administer incoming and outgoing student exchanges with overseas partner universities in Canada, Mexico and South America. This will include administering issues for exchange students such as selecting modules, housing, exchange awards etc.
  • Provide inputs and support to NUS senior management on issues related to overseas partner universities under purview.
  • Plan and organize student events within NUS, and other collaborative events with overseas partner universities and/or foreign missions, to encourage students to go on student exchange.
  • Represent IRO/NUS at international conferences or partner universities’ study abroad/exchange fairs.
  • Conceptualize and implement publicity campaigns at both NUS and overseas partner universities to attract student interest for exchange programmes.
  • Provide programme advising and support for incoming and outgoing students, including individual counselling as well as group briefings and presentations.
  • Oversee the Peer Advising Programme which includes supervising Student Associates as well as the planning and execution of student activities.
  • Contribute as a team member to the GE's Student Experience Team for outgoing students.

Requirements:

  • A good Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • 4 - 6 years of relevant working experience in the higher education or other related sectors.
  • High level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Good inter-personal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent team player, with good inter-cultural competency and sensitivity.
  • Experience of living, studying or working abroad, and/or proficiency in foreign languages will be viewed favorably.
