Getting Started
 |
1st Day @ Work |
- Meet your supervisor and/or department Head.
- You will receive an arrival package. Review the orientations materials provided.
- Contact your HR Officer or department administrator who has been corresponding with you on your appointment to walk you through your appointment and administrative requirements.
- Administrative requirements:
- Assumption of Duty Form - Complete the Assumption of Duty Form and submit it to your Head of Department.
- Staff Card - You will be issued a University Staff Card when you assume duty. It is a Smart Card, which is used for library borrowing services and access to offices.
- Computer account - A personal computer and computer account (userid and password) will be issued to you for your use during your employment in the University. The computer account will enable you to access the University's intranet as well as Internet services.
- Work Pass - If you are not a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore, one of the most immediate things that you need to do is to obtain your work pass (in the form of an endorsement in your passport as well as a card) from the Work Pass Division of the Ministry of Manpower. A valid WP is required if you wish to open a bank account, lease an apartment, apply for telephone/internet facilities, to name a few. Ensure that you have all required documents indicated in the in-principle approval letter for this purpose. If you are required to undergo a medical examination for this purpose, you need to bring along your medical results when collecting the endorsement.
- Payment of Salary through Bank Account -
Salary is normally
credited into the staff member's account
maintained in a bank of his/her choice. Once
you have a bank account, please submit the bank
account details online to facilitate the payment
of monthly salary via the e-services in the
Staff Portal.
For queries on submission and update of bank
account details, you may contact the Salaries
Section (Office of Financial Services) at
telephone number 65162417
