RunNUS is the largest annual running event in NUS that is organised by NUS Students' Sports Club. It aims to bring students, staff, alumni, and the public together to run for a good cause by supporting NUS Disability Support Office (DSO). This year, RunNUS 2019 consists 3 categories - "RunwithUS" (3km Challenge), 10km and 15km competitive runs.
One highlight of this year's event is the 3km Challenge "RUNwithUS". Race participants of RUNwithUS can choose to either run alongside Persons with Disabilities or Special Needs (PWDSN) or take part in simulation activities during the run. Everyone will then collect materials at the end of the run to be used in a collaborative artwork at the finishing line to mark the successful end of RunNUS 2019. RUNwithUS aims to enhance the interaction between race participants and PWDSNs, as well as encourage inclusivity within our community.
In addition, RunNUS 2019 features 2 other categories for participants who wish to race competitively. They can enjoy a challenging 10km or 15km route around the hilly NUS Kent Ridge campus.
After conquering the exciting races, participants can anticipate the post-race carnival filled with delicious food, photobooth and educational booths. In the spirit of the tagline, Run for a Cause, there will be booths manned by Social Service Organisations where one can learn more about the Special Needs community.
