Application Requirements
To be admitted to the M.P.P., the candidate must possess the following minimum requirements:
  • a good honours degree from NUS; or
  • an equivalent degree, such as a 4-year Bachelor degree with an average grade of B or better; or
  • a good Bachelor degree and passed the School’s placement test; or
  • other qualifications and experience may be accepted subject to approval by the NUS Board of Graduate Studies. Applicants should preferably have some background in economics and mathematics

These minimum requirements do not imply automatic admission into the programme.

If your native language is not English or your undergraduate degree programme was not conducted in English, you must submit your test scores for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

While the Admissions Committee does not set minimum scores for admissibility, experience suggests that successful applicants usually exceed the following scores:
  • 580 on the TOEFL paper-based test
  • 237 on the TOEFL computer-based test
  • 85 on the TOEFL internet-based test
  • 6.5 on the IELTS test
Minimum Requirements for Non-Medically Qualified Applicants
  • A good Honours degree or equivalent.
  • Two years' experience in a field related to public health, health administration, occupational health or clinical research.
English Proficiency for International Applicants
International applicants whose native language or medium of undergraduate instruction is not English require a minimum TOEFL score of 580 (paper-based) or 237 (computer-based) or an IELTS score of 6.0.
