Mr Daniel Cho Kwong Chow is Vice President (Human Resources) at the National University of Singapore. Mr Cho works with the Deputy President (Administration) in developing HR strategies and policies to support the University's goals and objectives. He leads his team in providing support in HR matters to the various academic as well as administrative units. His responsibilities include overseeing the various aspects of appointments, compensation and benefits, staff training and development. As Vice President (Human Resources) and as a member of the University's Corporatisation Committee, Mr Cho plays an integral part in the University's thrust towards greater administrative and financial autonomy.
A human resources professional with more than 25 years experience in the field, Mr Cho holds a BSc degree from the National University of Singapore and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource from the Singapore Institute of Management. In July 2004, he joined the National University of Singapore in his current capacity and has been chairing the Human Resource Working Group in the University since. He is also engaged in various committees in the University such as Resource Panel, Quality Assurance Framework for University (QAFU) Steering Committee; Safety Executive Group; and the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Steering Committee. He is also a member of the Singapore Human Resources Institute since 1985.
Mr Cho has held appointments as Director and General Manager and worked in multi-national companies such as Mitsubishi Corporation (1982 β 1987), United Motor Works Group of companies (1987 β 1989), Thomson Consumer Electronics (1989-1994), General Electric (1994-1997) and Chevron Texaco (1997-2004). He chaired the Oil Industry Group, Singapore National Employers' Federation (2002 to 2004) and was also a member of the Federation's Industrial Relations Panel (2002 to 2004).
