Mr WEE Sin Tho

Mr Wee Sin Tho is Vice-President (Endowment and Institutional Development) of the National University of Singapore (NUS). He assists the NUS President in leading the university’s efforts to build resources to support NUS’ mission of becoming a leading global university centred in Asia. In this capacity, he is responsible for the care and cultivation of philanthropic support to the university through the engagement of the NUS community of donors, friends, alumni, staff, students and parents, and by meeting the philanthropic aspirations of this community. Mr Wee oversees the NUS Development Office, which plans and implements strategic policies and programmes in advancement, gift acceptance and donor stewardship matters at NUS.

Prior to his appointment as Vice-President (Endowment and Institutional Development), Mr Wee was the university’s Chief Strategist, Endowment Programme. An NUS alumnus who holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) degree in Economics, he was also the founding Chief Investment Officer of the NUS Investment Office which he set up in 2005. Mr Wee brings with him a long and rich experience, and valuable networks, from the financial sector to his role as Vice-President (Endowment and Institutional Development). He is a non-executive Director of Keppel T&T Ltd., Hwa Hong Corporation Limited and UOL Group Limited. Early in his career, he was involved with corporate strategy, portfolio management policy and economic research with United Overseas Bank Ltd. He later served as Chief Executive Officer of HLG Capital Bhd., Managing Director of United Industrial Corporation Ltd., President of Vickers Capital Limited and Chief Executive Officer of Vickers Ballas Holdings Limited.
