"This
was my first Talent Development Programme session, and I was
quite impressed by its quality. I think the fact that all
the participants are highly motivated and intelligent people
enabled me to gain a lot from interaction with them. I am
looking forward to the next programme."

Engineering
is the art of using science, mathematics and experience for
the well being of human kind. Engineers plan, design and build.
They engineer happenings. The better ones among them proceed
to change the ways of engineering itself.
The
TDP in Faculty of Engineering is for those very capable students
who aspire to a higher level of challenge than offered by
the application of scientific and mathematical concepts as
taught. To be able to become creative leaders of the engineering
profession individuals need to nurture a wide spectrum of
capabilities. To provide opportunities for such capable students,
the TDP has been thoughtfully fashioned with special developmental
programmes including independent study modules and a scheme
for concept enhancement.

Independent
study modules are for the enthusiasts. When one has a personal
passion for seeking an in-depth understanding of a specific
phenomenon the best is to undertake a study under the supervision
of an expert familiar with the subject area. Independent study
modules under the TDP permit students to study personally
chosen subjects within engineering disciplines and earn modular
credits in fulfillment of graduation requirements.
When
engineers create, engineering concepts are what give them
strength, support and confidence. Under the Concept Enhancement
Scheme, TDP students are given special opportunities to develop
an intimate familiarity with engineering concepts through
discussions and interactions with course lecturers.
